Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a MyShield account or using any part of the myshield.world service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

MyShield provides private email alias addresses that forward received mail to your designated real email address. Aliases are hosted on the myshield.world domain. The service is provided as-is and we make no guarantee of 100% uptime or delivery success.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MyShield. By using the service, you confirm you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

4. Account responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when registering.
• You must not share your account with others or use it on behalf of a third party without their consent.
• You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorised access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use MyShield to:

• Send, relay, or forward spam, phishing emails, or unsolicited bulk messages.
• Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate any person or entity.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation, including South African law.
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent plan limits or access controls.
• Resell or commercially redistribute the service without our written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice.

6. Free plan

The Free plan provides 3 email aliases at no cost. Free aliases are subject to the same acceptable use policy. We reserve the right to modify the Free plan's limits with 30 days' notice.

7. Pro plan and billing

The Pro plan is a monthly subscription billed in South African Rand (ZAR) via PayFast. By subscribing you authorise recurring monthly charges to your payment method until you cancel.

• Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
• Downgrade: on downgrade, aliases above the free limit are given a 48-hour grace period before permanent deletion.
• Refunds: we do not offer refunds for partial months. If you cancel mid-cycle you retain Pro access until the period ends.
• Price changes: we will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price change takes effect.

8. Intellectual property

MyShield and all associated branding, software, and content are owned by us. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works without written permission. Your account data belongs to you, we claim no ownership over your aliases or the emails forwarded through them.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

MyShield is currently in public beta. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Beta software is unfinished and may contain bugs, errors, or interruptions. By using the service during this period you accept that risk entirely.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, complete email delivery, or that any particular feature will remain available. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, MyShield and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to missed or lost emails, data loss, business interruption, or damages arising from reliance on the service as a primary communication channel.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your aliases are deactivated immediately and your data is deleted.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
